Are Those The Reasons Stopping You From Buying Electric Cars?
Electric cars are like one of the hottest topics now. On the news, social media, and in some of our daily conversations. Everyone is talking about it. But how many people are actually getting the electric car?
Are you getting an electric car? I know there are some people who bought them but many people are not purchasing or shifting their car preference now to electric cars. Why?
We are laying out some of the reasons that we think are stopping people from buying electric cars. I wonder if you think similarly too.
1) Electric Cars Are More Expensive
Guess, the biggest reason stopping people from getting electric cars is the price right? Electric cars are more expensive than petrol or diesel powered cars.
You are expected to pay more for the electric cars that are similar to the petrol or diesel powered cars. We know that the government does encourage people to get vehicles that benefit the environment better but those rebates and benefits don't seem enough to cover for the cost of the electric cars.
Let’s hope that an electric car’s price can be more affordable soon.
2) Electric Cars Takes Longer Time to “Refuel”
How long did it take you to pump your car’s petrol? A few minutes will do, right? Depending on the size of your fuel tank.
This doesn’t go the same for electric cars. Charging for electric cars can take a longer time. To get a fully charged battery, you might need hours. Fortunately, charging technology is getting more advanced. Let's hope that the charging can be faster now.
P/s: Imagine that you are going out in the morning, you get in your car but the battery is low, you look at the switch, it’s plugged in but it is not switched on. OMG.
3) Limited Charging Facility
Although the charging infrastructure has been growing, it is still not to the level and quantity which is comfortable to electric cars users right? We are seeing more of these infrastructures, perhaps in shopping malls but not all places.
You can have your own charger at home but I think people become insecure when driving out long distances or travelling to places that don’t have charging infrastructures. Guess, people are getting hybrid cars. One that runs on electric and petrol.
4) Limited Model Choices
The limited model for electric cars might stop most people from purchasing electric cars. Most people really go for the look of a car before purchasing a car.
Well since the looks are limited, perhaps it can't satisfy most people's preference. Perhaps electric car’s designer need to step up and make more designs to attract more people’s attention.
